Renault Megane GT Line Review by Brian Kellett

Renault Megane GT Line Review by Brian Kellett

"The All-New Renault Mégane has not taken the evolutionary step forward in terms of design that we expected from the French manufacturer. It has in fact taken a massive leap in terms of design, style and shape. And with its attractive new body comes an impressive level of comfort and a brand new interior layout".

"Cruising on the motorway is where the All-New Renault Mégane comes into its own. It is remarkably quiet and refined for a family hatch and to be honest probably the quietest I’ve experienced to date. While competitors like the SEAT Leon are arguably better fun to drive, the Mégane offers quite the complete package".

"Economy is a claimed 3.7l/100km but we achieved a figure closer to 5.0 on our week spent with the new car. C02 emissions are just 101g/km meaning it sits in tax band A2 at just €190 per annum".

"Our test car was the GT-Line so the interior received the sporty touch too. Space in the cabin is good too with decent leg and headroom for both front and rear passengers. Two adults would be happy in the back on extended journeys, even three on shorter runs. There is a number of decent sized storage compartments including the door pockets, glovebox and centre armrest while the boot is an excellent 384 litres. That’s marginally bigger than the Golf’s 380 and the Astra’s 370 litres".

"The GT Line exterior package really complements the new shape of the All-New Renault Mégane hatchback giving it a great stance which will lend perfectly to the upcoming Mégane

GT Hot Hatch. It complements the attractive designs that came before it in the shape of the Captur and Kadjar SUV’s making the Renault Line-up look pretty impressive overall. The new Megane looks and feels as fresh as its sibling models and a new design language we are very happy to see coming from the French giant".

‘The All-New Renault Mégane now makes a compelling argument for itself as a considerable choice among many fine competitors in the family hatch segment.’
