The all-new Mégane family is expanding with the introduction of a four-door version – the all-new Mégane Grand Coupé, a striking sleek saloon design.
This model completes Renault’s offering in the C-segment and strengthens the brand’s position in Ireland, where compact saloons remain the preferred choice for comfort and space.
Manufactured at Renault’s Bursa plant in Turkey and set to go on sale in nearly 30 countries, the all-new Mégane Grand Coupé contributes to the brand’s global growth and the extension of its product range.
Based upon Renault’s CMF C/D architecture, the new Mégane Grand Coupé was conceived, designed and developed in tandem with the all-new Mégane launched in June 2016. This means it benefits from the same features, technology and engine variants as its five-door sibling, while adding record-breaking roominess for its class with generous space for its occupants and a boot volume of 550dm3 VDA.
Its generous dimensions (4.63m long and 1.81m wide, with a record wheelbase in its class of 2.71m) give all-new Mégane Grand Coupé an imposing presence and provide additional space and comfort for occupants. For the Grand Coupé version, all-new Mégane’s wheelbase has been extended by 42mm to give even more legroom in the back.
Courtesy of its dynamic styling and its range of features from the next segment up, the all-new Mégane Grand Coupé represents a genuine upmarket shift, which enables the brand’s latest model to position itself as the new benchmark in the compact saloon category.
Its coupé-like silhouette and proportions stand out from the competition as Renault’s designers seamlessly incorporated 550dm3 VDA of boot storage capacity without compromising the vehicle’s aesthetic appeal.
Fitted as standard either across the range or in the higher-end versions, chrome detailing (grille, side mouldings, door window strips, door handles and exhaust tailpipes) point to the model’s quality.
With wheel sizes up to 18 inches on the top-level Signature trim the all-new Mégane Grand Coupe has a 1.57m front and rear track – the widest in its class.
A unique feature in the compact saloon category, higher-end versions of the new Mégane Grand Coupé are available with a panoramic sliding glass roof that fills the cabin with natural light front and rear. From the outside, the panoramic roof forms a link between the windscreen and the rear window to add a further touch of elegance and refinement to the design of the new Mégane Grand Coupé.
The all-new Mégane Grand Coupé is available in a choice of nine exterior colours:
The all-new Mégane Grand Coupé shares many styling features with its five-door sibling, including its lighting signature which is visible night and day with the front C-shaped lighting signature features LED 3D-effect light guides. The permanently-lit rear LED lights form a unique horizontal 3D-effect signature featuring Edge Light technology.
The cabin in the all-new Mégane gives a ‘cockpit’-feel thanks to sculpted, enveloping seats and features such as a colour head-up display, a configurable colour 7- inch TFT data display, and R-LINK 2 - a 7-inch landscape or 8.7-inch portrait multimedia and navigation tablet
Travelling comfort is further enhanced by the careful attention that has been paid to the interior finish, to the quality of the soft-to-the-touch materials, which are within easy reach of the driver and passengers.

The precision-designed seats promise and provide class-leading comfort and support thanks notably to the use of dual-density foam. The frames are the same as those employed for Espace and Talisman.
The cabin offers a generous level of space for the driver and passengers alike thanks to a longer wheel base.
One of the all- new Mégane Grand Coupé’s most impressive features is its boot, whose 550dm3 volume (20dm3 more than the Renault Fluence). In addition to its capacious load- space, it is exceptionally practical with easy access courtesy of a wide opening. The maximum load length is 1,084mm, with a maximum width of 1,393mm. Close attention has been paid to cabin storage space and user-friendliness with a generous seven-litre glove box; the central armrest can be adjusted in length to offer as much as three litres of storage and the front-door stowage space accommodates a 1.5-litre bottle.
The all-new Mégane Grand Coupé is based upon the Renault-Nissan Alliance’s CMF-C/D modular architecture which it shares with other high-end Renault models, including the Espace, Talisman and new KOLEOS as well as the all-new Mégane and new SCENIC ranges. Given that it will be marketed in nearly 30 markets, it was important that the new Mégane Grand Coupé met the expectations of drivers in all types of weather and on all types of roads.
To ensure its reliability, and in addition to the tests already carried out on the new Mégane hatchback version, the car was put through 276,000 kilometres on Renault’s test tracks in conditions designed to accelerate ageing. That is the equivalent of 828,000 kilometres of real-life use. Moreover, 24 vehicles covered more than one million kilometres in order to detect any potential issues and swiftly rectify them.
